Social Entrepreneurship Programs
These programs aim to support and empower social innovators and impact entrepreneurs to tackle real-world challenges and to establish successful social businesses.
IMPACT
Launched in 2014, THE IMPACT Program is designed for entrepreneurs at idea / start-up phases to build human-centered solutions and clear impact statements capitalizing on design thinking tools and exposure to market experts in different fields.
It is a 3-5 day boot camp that is all based on desgin thinking and aims at educating, inspiring, and equipping entrepreneurs with the necessary tools to find innovative solutions for societal challenges, while maintaining financial sustainability.
The Program has supported over 850 entrepreneurs from 12 different nationalities in 8 cities across 6 countries in the region, including Egypt (Cairo & Sohag), Lebanon (Beirut), Jordan (Amman), Saudi Arabia (Jeddah & Riyadh), the UAE (Dubai), and Morocco (Rabat).
THRIVE
Launched in 2017, the THRIVE Program is designed for impact-driven entrepreneurs tackling societal or environmental challenges at growth phase (Scale-ups or SMEs), to accelerate their growth.
The program offers a number of training and consulting sessions that are tailored based on the needs of the participating business. It mainly aims at helping these impact-driven businesses reach their full potential and become ready for investment and growth.
Between 2021 and 2024, ATC has worked through the program with over 37 businesses across several Egyptian cities, including in Cairo, Alexandria, Rasheed, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, and Aswan.
Thrive 2.0 Training
In an effort to infuse more social enterprises and non-prodit companies with the principles of sustainable and inclusive growth, we have been offering 2-day modules on the topics of Circular Growth, Impact Management and Measurement, Founder Well-Being, and Sustainability Management Essentials twice a year since 2020. We offer these programs both offline and online, and have served 185 companies between 2020 and 2022.
Thrive 2.0 Consulting
We run a tailored consulting program that allows impact-driven organizations to access 3-6 month tailored mentorship and consulting opportunities with world-class advisors in the areas of Strategy, Organizational Development, Circular Growth, Impact Management and Measurement, among others. We have served 38 companies between 2020 and 2022.
YPE Impact Management Capacity Development
ATC designed and implemented training and advisory services for non-profit and for-profit entrepreneurship support organizations on impact management and measurement.
Specifically, ATC conducted a baseline assessment of their current capacities, conducted two workshops (one in Arabic and one in French) on the essentials of impact management, and provided each entity with 15+ hours of mentorship and advisory services on impact management and measurement, allowing them to:
1) better articulate their impact,
2) develop theories of change, and
3) develop indicators and data collection tools for the measurement of their outcomes and impact.
Impact Management
Designed for entrepreneurs at the early or growth phase to be able to clearly articulate their priority impact areas, create a contextualized system for measuring and communicating impact and understand how this reflects on decision making and strategy.
Throughout the 2-day module, participants were introduced to the notion of long-term social impact, and were supported to:
- Understand the impact management process.
- Build a logic frame and articulating their own (differentiating impact from
outcomes and outputs)
- Identify and engage stakeholders
- Communicate impact to stakeholders.
